K is for Kittens

Let's get this straight, everyone. KITTENS ARE NOT CUTE. I was cute as a kitten, obvs, but not one single kitten has been cute since then. FACT.

They might have big eyes that seem to stare into your very soul but these are googly-eyed little monsters who will sucker you into pandering for their every need. YOU DON'T NEED THAT, right?

Their fluffiness may make you want to pick them up and cuddle them. But do you know what is hidden in that fluff? No, you don't. It could be old bits of mouldering food, twigs, insects, dirt. Who knows? DON'T TAKE THE RISK.

They sometimes look cute playing. Their little plump little paws bat at a toy and all you want to do is get down on their level and play too. But a claw is a claw. Get too close to them while they are playing and they could HAVE YOUR EYE OUT. Leave well alone.

So there you have it, peeps. DANGER, DANGER. LEAVE KITTENS ALONE.

  1. Ok, what's the trouble, are your Hoomans going to have a small one new at home?

  2. Hah! Your warning will never keep me from adopting another cute kitty! Except the cat that owns us right now won't allow it! Cheers and see you tomorrow!

    1. No, we older cats must put our paws down and repel all intruders.

  3. Thank you for the warning. ~snicker~ I can add, also, one should always leave any sleeping cat alone. :)

    1. Quite right, Darla! I don't approve of sleepus interruptus.

  4. You know, I just might agree with you! Small kittens, at the age most people get them, around 8 weeks, are not cute to me. I like them once they are closer to 4 months old! They are sturdier for one thing! Both my cats were about that age when I got them ("got" one, the other showed up), and then they were cute! Not as cute as you though, right?

    1. Not as cute as me, obviously...but four months is a good age for a cat to be.
